Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Cabernet 2018
Dark garnet, the aromatic intensity of this wine is irresistible. Fresh berries, dried cherries co-mingle with bergamot, lavender, mint, gunpowder and sage. The palate has notes of cranberry, cola and raspberry jam with focused acidity. The finish leans savory with toasted hazelnuts, mushroom, black pepper and cedar.
88% Cabernet, 11% Merlot, 1 % Cabernet Franc
About the Winery:
Established in 1882 and a pioneer in California winemaking, Chateau Montelena is best known for their participation in the 1976 Judgment of Paris; a historical tasting where their Chardonnay won blind tasted against French wines. Books, documentaries, and the Bottle Shock movie tell the story of this event.
